Authenticated SQL injection via unchecked image sorting
Published Jan 6, 2023 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
SQL injection in JoomGallery 3.3.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter database queries through image sorting options. The category and detail models append unchecked jg_firstorder, jg_secondorder, and jg_thirdorder values directly to ORDER BY clauses. Access to the administrator panel is required; successful exploitation executes attacker-controlled SQL with the Joomla database account's permissions.
