CVE-2018-25041Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Downloaded-file disclosure via unauthenticated JSON RPC proxy

Published Jun 17, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025

Information disclosure in uTorrent Classic 3.5.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to copy downloaded files through its JSON RPC proxy. The default /proxy handler returns files indexed in torrent history without authenticating the requester or restricting website access. Exploitation requires the user to visit an attacker-controlled site that performs DNS rebinding; the default configuration exposes confidentiality only.
