CVE-2018-25033Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Memory disclosure and crash via malformed STL file

Published May 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 5, 2024

Heap-based out-of-bounds read in ADMesh 0.98.4 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to expose memory or crash processing. While repairing a crafted STL file, stl_update_connects_remove_1 reads four bytes from 16 bytes before an allocated heap buffer. A user or consuming application must process the file, and the public proof demonstrates a process abort rather than code execution.
