Server-state manipulation via unchecked UIDL property updates
Published Apr 23, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Improper validation in Vaadin 10.0.0 through 10.0.7 and 11.0.0 through 11.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to alter server state. The UIDL request path applies crafted synchronization values through ElementPropertyMap without consistently rejecting properties that lack client-update permission. Exploitation requires an authenticated session and application logic that trusts an affected property, resulting in unintended integrity changes.
