CVE-2018-21092

Unauthorized AT-command execution via crafted NFC tag

Published Apr 8, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024

Improper input validation in DeviceTest on Samsung mobile devices with Android 6.x and 7.x allows attackers to submit AT commands via NFC tags. DeviceTest accepts a crafted NFC tag payload as an AT command without publicly documented validation of the command content or permitted operation. Physical proximity to an NFC-enabled affected device is required; Samsung has not published which AT operation executes or the resulting device change.
