Physical media disclosure via persistent locked-folder slideshow
Published Apr 8, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Information disclosure in Secure Folder on Samsung mobile devices with Android 7.x or 8.x allows physically proximate attackers to view locked media. The Gallery app continues rendering a slideshow from Secure Folder Streams after the folder locks instead of hiding that content. Exploitation requires disabled biometric authentication, a locked Secure Folder, and a connection to an external device; it exposes displayed media but does not alter data or interrupt the device.
