Unauthenticated administrator creation via login include override
Published Nov 21, 2018 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
Authentication bypass in PRTG Network Monitor before 18.2.40.1683 allows remote attackers to create administrators via HTTP requests. The /public/login.htm include directive accepts attacker-controlled attributes that invoke /api/addusers with supplied id and users parameters. Network access to the login page is sufficient; no existing account or user interaction is required, and the created application account has read-write privileges, including administrator access.
