File disclosure via prefix-only resource path validation
Published Mar 7, 2019 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
Path traversal in TIBCO JasperReports Library's web handler allows remote attackers to read host files through crafted resource requests. DefaultWebResourceHandler accepts resource paths beginning with net/sf/jasperreports/ without preventing subsequent parent-directory traversal. Exposure requires an application using that handler; the public demonstration needed no login and read database configuration, but did not demonstrate file writes or code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
