Script execution via unescaped column aliases and tooltips
Published Jun 2, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Grafana before 7.0.0 allows remote attackers to execute script in another user's browser via crafted Table Panel column styles. The legacy TableRenderer inserts replaced column aliases and link-tooltip templates into HTML without escaping the resulting values. An attacker must supply crafted column-style metadata and a user must open the affected dashboard, enabling browser-context data access or actions.
