Authenticated script execution via Write Data reflection
Published Mar 2, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Cross-site scripting in InfluxDB 0.9.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in an administrator's browser via the Write Data module. The module reflects attacker-controlled write-data input into the administrative web response without HTML escaping, allowing injected JavaScript to run when the response is rendered. Access requires authenticated administrative-panel privileges and administrator interaction; the documented impact is browser-side confidentiality and integrity loss without service interruption.
