Database query manipulation via unvalidated sort order
Published Mar 2, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
SQL injection in PbootCMS allows remote attackers to manipulate database queries through the api.php/Cms/search order parameter. The Cms/search API passes the attacker-controlled order value into the model's ORDER BY construction without restricting it to permitted sort expressions. Exploitation requires the API to be enabled; unauthenticated access also requires API authentication to be disabled, otherwise valid API credentials are needed.
