Raw disk writes via unauthenticated driver IOCTL
Published Jan 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Improper access control in K7 AntiVirus Premium 15.01.00.53 allows local users to write raw disk data through the K7Sentry device. The K7Sentry driver accepts a specific IOCTL from a low-integrity process without sufficient authentication and exposes raw hard-disk access. User interaction is required, and the reported consequence is unauthorized disk modification rather than data disclosure or service interruption.
