Unauthenticated reboot or disclosure via unchecked HTTP URLs
Published Jun 7, 2018 · Updated Jan 12, 2026
URL validation failure in Cisco ASA Software's web interface allows remote attackers to reboot devices via crafted HTTP requests. The internal web server accepts traversal paths into +CSCOE+/files/file_list.json without authentication, exposing directory and session information on certain releases instead of rebooting. Exploitation requires a reachable affected web feature; management-interface access remains restricted by configured source-IP ranges.
