Customer data disclosure via exposed storefront API key
Published Jan 15, 2020 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Information disclosure in Centire Yopify 2017-04-06 and earlier allows remote attackers to read customer names, cities, and recent purchases. The storefront loads a JavaScript widget whose JSON endpoint accepts a site-specific API key embedded in public page source and returns the 50 most recent purchase records. No account is required; extracting the key and polling the endpoint exposes first names, last initials, cities, and purchase histories for customer profiling.
