Code execution via oversized command-line argument
Published Mar 28, 2026 · Updated Mar 28, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in TiEmu 2.08 and earlier allows local users to execute arbitrary code via an oversized command-line argument. The Windows proof of concept supplies 452 padding bytes, overwrites SEH, and appends a VirtualProtect ROP chain and shellcode before launching tiemu.exe. Local ability to start TiEmu with the crafted argument is required; failed attempts crash the application.
