Unauthenticated password replacement via remote-access PUT
Published Mar 15, 2026 · Updated Mar 15, 2026
Missing authentication in Serviio PRO 1.6.1 through 1.8.0.0 PRO allows remote attackers to change the mediabrowser password. The Configuration REST API accepts an unauthenticated PUT to /rest/remote-access and writes the supplied remoteUserPassword value as the remote-access credential. Network access to the console service, which uses port 23423 by default, is sufficient to replace the password protecting the mediabrowser page.
