Unauthenticated site takeover via unsafe deserialization
Published Oct 18, 2025 · Updated Oct 18, 2025
PHP object injection in Metagauss RegistrationMagic before 3.7.9.3 allows remote attackers to install a remote PHP file through AJAX. The is_expired_by_date() function deserializes attacker-controlled input, allowing a POP chain to fetch and save a chosen remote file. No authentication is required; successful access to the saved PHP backdoor grants full control of the WordPress site.
