Administrator-session script execution via unsanitized user IP
Published Feb 6, 2023 · Updated Mar 5, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in WangGuard 1.8.0 allows remote attackers to inject script through a user IP shown to administrators. The WGG User List builds the user-info URL with an untrusted userIP value, and wangguard_users_info reads that query parameter without sanitizing it. Execution requires an administrator to open the affected user-information view; the injected script then runs in that administrator's browser session.
