Stored XSS via unescaped attribute quotes
Published Dec 31, 2022 · Updated Oct 15, 2024
Cross-site scripting in rf Keynote 0.x allows remote authenticated users to execute script in rendered HTML via crafted attribute values. The lib/keynote/rumble.rb attrs_to_s method interpolates HTML-safe attribute strings without escaping embedded quotation marks, allowing attacker-controlled markup to break out of an attribute context. Exploitation requires access to an application rendering attacker-influenced attributes; impact is script execution in a victim's browser without direct server compromise.
