Script execution via unescaped REQUEST_URI metadata
Published Dec 30, 2022 · Updated Nov 19, 2024
Reflected XSS in aerouk Imageserve allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a visitor's browser through a crafted URL. viewer.phtml inserts the server-supplied REQUEST_URI into the twitter:url meta tag without HTML escaping, allowing query-string quotes to break out of the content attribute. Exploitation requires a visitor to open the crafted image-viewer URL; the injected script runs in that visitor's Imageserve origin.
