Authenticated file disclosure via viewer path traversal
Published Dec 30, 2022 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Path traversal in aerouk Imageserve allows remote authenticated users to read files through crafted viewer.php parameters. viewer.php concatenates untrusted type and file query values into an images-directory path and opens an existing result without enforcing directory confinement. Exploitation requires authenticated network access and knowledge of a valid existing path; the documented consequence is unauthorized file reading only.
