Process termination via user-writable PID file

Denial of service in the Gentoo SmokePing ebuild through 2.7.3-r1 allows local users with smokeping access to terminate processes. The init script makes the PID-file directory writable by the smokeping account, allowing that account to replace the PID before root sends SIGTERM during service shutdown. Exploitation requires control of the smokeping account and a privileged service stop, after which any process that root can signal can be interrupted.
