Administrator session compromise via unencoded page parameter
Published Jun 24, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Reflected XSS in WP-Filebase Download Manager 3.4.4 allows remote attackers to run scripts in a logged-in administrator's browser. AdminGuiFiles.php copies the POST-polluted page request parameter into a hidden form value without output encoding, bypassing WordPress's URL validation. Exploitation requires an administrator to open an attacker-controlled page, after which the script can read session tokens or perform actions in that administrator's context.
