Administrative settings modification via missing nonce validation
Published Jun 24, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in W3 Eden WordPress Download Manager 2.8.99 allows remote attackers to modify administrative settings. The wdm_settings action accepts a wdm_save_settings POST request at wp-admin/admin-ajax.php without a CSRF nonce, permitting changes to file-browser access and its base directory. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to submit an attacker-controlled form; the demonstrated request grants Editors file-browser access.
