Privilege escalation via persistent JavaScript injection
Published Jun 13, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Stored XSS in web input handlers in Vendavo Pricepoint 4.6.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in another user's browser. The AddEdit, EditData, and SaveGroup handlers store POST parameters without sufficient validation, preserving attacker-supplied scripts. Low-privileged access is enough to plant a payload that runs when a superuser views it, enabling creation of a superuser or addition to the superuser group.
