Remote code execution via unrestricted post attachment upload
Published Jun 9, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in HumHub 0.20.1 and 1.0.0-beta.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP on the server. The post composer upload endpoint accepts arbitrary extensions, so a PHP attachment under the web root executes when upload-directory protections are not enforced. An account and a server that does not honor the supplied .htaccess protection are required; registration and every file type are allowed by default.
