Unauthenticated network reconfiguration via unprotected UDP service
Published Jun 9, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Improper privilege management in Solar-Log 2.8.4-56 and 3.5.2-85 allows remote attackers to change network settings via UDP. The enabled-by-default Beck IPC UDP configuration service on port 8001 accepts a MAC-addressed IP, netmask, and gateway update without a configured password. An attacker with network reachability and the device MAC address can redirect or disconnect the appliance, but the advisory reports no code execution through this flaw.
