Cross-site scripting via slash-command redirect response
Published Jun 19, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Mattermost Server before 4.3.0, 4.2.1, and 4.1.2 allows remote attackers to run script via a slash command. Public records identify the goto_location value returned by a slash command as the injection locus but do not disclose the faulty validation or rendering operation. A user must process the crafted response; script then executes in that user's Mattermost browser context and can read or alter session-accessible data.
