Cross-site scripting via Slack attachment title link
Published Jun 19, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Mattermost Server before 4.3.0, 4.2.1, and 4.1.2 allows remote attackers to run script via Slack attachments. Mattermost's Slack-attachment renderer treats the attacker-controlled title_link value as a clickable link; the exact missing validation is undisclosed. Exploitation requires a user to interact with the crafted attachment, after which injected script can read or alter data available to that browser session.
