CVE-2017-18701

Browser-context script execution via reflected input

Published Apr 24, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024

Reflected XSS in NETGEAR R6700 before 1.0.1.36 and R6900 before 1.0.1.34 allows attackers to execute script in a user's browser via a crafted request. The router web interface reflects attacker-controlled request data into an HTML response without neutralizing executable content; NETGEAR has not identified the affected handler or parameter. Exploitation requires user interaction from an adjacent network position and can expose or modify browser-context data without interrupting router availability.
