Local privilege escalation via printer browser executable launch
Published May 3, 2023 · Updated Jan 30, 2025
Local privilege escalation in CyberArk Viewfinity 5.5.10.95 and 6.x before 6.1.1.220 allows local users to gain administrator access. The privileged Add Printer workflow lets its file-browser dialog launch C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe instead of restricting selection to printer resources. A low-privilege Windows session and access to the Viewfinity Control Panel are required; exploitation opens an administrator command prompt.
