Unauthenticated code execution via forged encrypted expressions
Published Jan 3, 2018 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
EL injection in PrimeTek Informatics PrimeFaces 5.x allows remote attackers to execute code through crafted dynamic-resource requests. StreamedContentHandler decrypts the attacker-controlled pfdrid parameter and evaluates its plaintext as an expression; the default encryption secret permits forged expressions, and a padding oracle supports attacks against changed secrets. An exposed dynamic-resource endpoint requires no login, and injected expressions execute with the hosting application's privileges.
