SYSTEM code execution via unquoted service path
Published Jun 19, 2026 · Updated Jun 19, 2026
Unquoted service path in AnyDesk 2.5.0 allows local users to execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges through its Windows service. The service registers C:\Program Files\AnyDesk\AnyDesk.exe --service without quotation marks while running as LocalSystem. A low-privileged local user must place an executable in a higher-level path and wait for service startup or system reboot, resulting in full host control.
