SYSTEM code execution via unquoted service path
Published Jun 19, 2026 · Updated Jun 19, 2026
Privilege escalation in Bdrive Inc. NetDrive 2.6.12 allows local users to execute arbitrary code as SYSTEM through a Windows service path. The Netdrive2_Service_Netdrive2 configuration registers C:\Program Files\NetDrive2\nd2svc.exe without quotation marks, causing Windows to search higher-level path components for an executable. A low-privileged local user who can place code in the system root gains SYSTEM execution when the service starts or the host reboots.
