LocalSystem code execution via unquoted service path
Published Jun 19, 2026 · Updated Jun 19, 2026
Unquoted service path handling in Binisoft Windows Firewall Control 4.8.6.0 allows local users to execute code as LocalSystem. The _wfcs service registers C:\Program Files\Windows Firewall Control\wfcs.exe without quotation marks, so Windows can resolve an attacker-placed executable earlier in the spaced path. Exploitation requires local write access to a searched directory and a service restart or system reboot; successful execution grants LocalSystem control.
