SYSTEM privilege escalation via unquoted service path
Published Jun 19, 2026 · Updated Jun 19, 2026
Unquoted service path handling in NetworkDLS Fortitude HTTP 1.0.4.0 allows local users to execute code with SYSTEM privileges. The Fortitude HTTP service registers C:\Program Files\NetworkDLS\Fortitude HTTP\Bin\FortitudeSvc.exe /RunService as an unquoted LocalSystem ImagePath, so Windows can resolve an attacker-placed executable before the intended binary. Exploitation requires a local user able to write an executable into a searched parent path and a subsequent service start or system reboot.
