CVE-2016-20052Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote code execution via unrestricted PHP upload

Published Apr 4, 2026 · Updated Apr 4, 2026

Unrestricted file upload in sNews CMS 1.7 allows remote attackers to execute PHP code through a crafted multipart request. The snews_files handler accepts an imagefile named with a .php extension and places it at a web-accessible path without blocking executable types. The CNA describes unauthenticated access, but its referenced proof of concept includes a session cookie and states that administrator access is required; successful upload executes code as the web-server account.
