Buffer overflow in the scan Hostname/IP field in Foundstone NetSchedScan 1.0 allows local users to crash the application. The field accepts an oversized string without enforcing its buffer boundary, so 388 data bytes followed by a four-byte EIP overwrite corrupt control data. The attacker must operate the Windows desktop application locally and paste the crafted content; the demonstrated consequence is an application crash, not code execution.
