CVE-2016-20036Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Browser script execution via reflected manager parameters

Published Mar 15, 2026 · Updated Mar 15, 2026

Reflected XSS in Wowza Streaming Engine Manager 4.5.0 allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser via crafted requests. Multiple Engine Manager handlers return appName, vhost, uiAppType, and other request values to HTML or JavaScript responses without neutralizing script syntax. Exploitation requires a user to load a crafted Manager request, and the injected code runs in that user's browser session in the affected site's context.
