Authenticated command execution via installation value injection
Published Jan 26, 2026 · Updated Jan 26, 2026
Command injection in Apache Continuum all versions allows remote authenticated users to execute server commands via the Installations REST API. The saveInstallation action fails to neutralize backticks in installation.varValue, so a submitted value executes during installation validation. Access to the authenticated installations interface is required; successful exploitation runs commands with Continuum service privileges.
