Root command execution via unchecked exefile parameter
Published Oct 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
OS command injection in CloudSetup.cgi on AVTECH IP cameras, NVRs, and DVRs allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The endpoint passes its exefile parameter directly to system command execution without validation or an allowlist. Access requires authentication and an AVTECH cloud-capable device exposing the endpoint; successful exploitation grants complete device control.
