SYSTEM code execution via ActiveMQ PUT upload
Published Jul 25, 2025 · Updated Nov 21, 2025
Client-side code execution in Hanwha Vision Smart Security Manager 1.32 and 1.4 allows remote attackers to gain SYSTEM via a web page. The bundled ActiveMQ Broker on localhost:8161 accepts an unauthenticated PUT with traversal, placing attacker-controlled JSP code in its admin webapp. Exploitation requires an SSM host user to visit attacker-controlled content; the resulting JSP launches arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges.
