CVE-2016-15043Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked remote file write

Published Jul 19, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Unrestricted file upload in WP Mobile Detector 3.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute PHP code via the src parameter. The unauthenticated resize.php endpoint passes the src URL to file_get_contents() and writes the response under its attacker-controlled basename into the web-accessible cache directory without validating its type. Code execution requires remote URL fetching through allow_url_fopen and PHP execution in that cache directory; otherwise the flaw still permits arbitrary hosted content.
