Authenticated credential disclosure via unredacted console configuration
Published Jun 19, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Information disclosure in Mattermost Server before 3.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to read config.json credential fields. The System Console UI exposes stored credential values from config.json instead of redacting them, although the responsible code path is undisclosed. A valid low-privilege account is required, and the reported consequence is credential disclosure without data modification or service interruption.
