Unauthenticated administration access via repeated URL requests
Published Apr 28, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Authentication bypass in NETGEAR router firmware before 2017-01-06 allows remote attackers to access the administration settings page. The administrator-authentication mechanism accepts a script that repeatedly requests a specific URL without enforcing valid administrator credentials. Reachability requires local-network access, or Internet access when remote management is enabled; remote management is disabled by default.
