Unauthenticated device reboot
Published Apr 7, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Denial of service in AntService on Samsung mobile devices running Android 4.4 through 6.0 allows remote attackers to force a device reboot. Samsung and MITRE have not published the triggering AntService input or the validation error that causes system_server to crash. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation interrupts service by crashing system_server and rebooting the device.
