Outbound HTTP traffic redirection via Proxy header
Published Feb 19, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
HTTP proxy injection in HHVM FastCGI allows remote attackers to redirect application HTTP traffic through an arbitrary proxy. FastCGITransport::onHeader turns a request's Proxy header into HTTP_PROXY in the PHP environment instead of discarding the case-insensitive header name. Exposure requires an affected version and request-handling code that makes outbound HTTP requests through a client that trusts HTTP_PROXY.
