Reflected XSS via mailingsearch parameter
Published Mar 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Joobi JNews Joomla Component 8.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a victim browser via mailingsearch. A POST request places the mailingsearch value into the server response without adequate output neutralization, causing browser-executed JavaScript when the response is loaded. Exploitation requires a registered Joomla account or backend access and victim interaction; the demonstrated impact is script execution with the victim page's privileges, not server-side code execution.
