Authenticated SQL injection via back-office fields
Published Mar 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
SQL injection in Joobi JNews before 8.5.0 allows remote authenticated users to alter database queries through back-office requests. The thumbnail upload handler accepts filename, while Queue, Subscribers, and Newsletters searches accept mailingsearch or emailsearch values that break the intended SQL queries. Administrative back-office access is required, and the demonstrated error-based injection changes database-query execution.
