Local privilege escalation via COMMAND handler
Published Mar 27, 2020 · Updated Aug 6, 2024
Privilege escalation in Lenovo System Update 5.07.0008 and earlier allows local users to execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges. The public record identifies the SUService.exe /type COMMAND handler but does not disclose the validation failure that permits attacker-controlled commands. A local low-privileged account is required, and successful exploitation runs code with elevated privileges without user interaction.
